The General Meeting of the Student Scientific Society of Uzhhorod National University took place
On 03 March 2025, 75 delegates from all faculties of our alma mater delegated representatives of Student Scientific Societies to address key issues of the scientific life of university students - the election of the chairman of the SSS of UzhNU and the approval of the quantitative and personal composition of the Board of the UzhNU Student Scientific Society.
The meeting began with a minute of silence to honour the fallen defenders of Ukraine.
The chairman and secretary of the meeting were Anatolii Miroshnyk, the chairman of the SSS of the Faculty of Social Sciences of UzhNU, and Alina Yamkova, the chairman of the SSS of the Faculty of Economics. Then a three-member counting commission was elected.
The Vice-Rector for Research Ivan Myroniuk and the Head of the Research Department Kateryna Skubenych made welcoming speeches, noting the joint successful long and hard work on the resumption of the scientific society after a long break and absence at a time when student science has many opportunities to realise its potential in the modern world of innovation and the victory of technology and knowledge-intensive society.
The only candidate for the position of the Head of the SSS of UzhNU, registered by the organizing committee of the Meeting with all formal requirements of compliance with the regulations, was the 4th year bachelor student of the specialty ‘052-Political Science’ Anton Radko, who presented his programme of development of the scientific society before the main vote, which included such items as the adoption of new regulations on the work of the SSS of UzhNU, the development of clear directions of the society, consideration of solving current problematic issues of institutional activity, establishing communication between the society and the university. The candidate was asked questions with answers at the end.
Anton Radko was elected Chairman of the Student Scientific Society of Uzhhorod University by a majority of the delegates present, who constituted a quorum of the General Meeting.
After the election of the chairman, 22 members of the board of the SSS of UzhNU were approved, consisting of the current chairmen of the scientific societies of the faculties and the chairman himself.
At the end of the meeting, the acting chairman of the UzhNU Student Council, Viktor Pylypchuk, welcomed the representatives of the SSS and wished the newly elected Board of the SSS productive work, saying that the Student Council of the University would always be happy to help the society implement all the necessary and useful initiatives and projects for the development of education and science at our university.
