Office of the German Center for research in the field of business will be opened at UzhNU
From now on global scientific research and achievements in the field of business will be more accessible for Ukraine owing to Uzhhorod National University. It is planned to open a branch of the German Foundation for Technology Transfer "Shteinbeis" on its basis.
The issue was discussed during the meeting of the Rector of Uzhhorod National University professor Volodymyr Smolanka and the director of the Transfer Centre "Shteinbeis Donau", Adviser to the Ministry for Economic Development and Technology Transfer in Eastern Europe Professor Jürgen Reitzner. Steinbeis network involves many universities from different countries, which attract funds from industry for research and education.
Steinbeis Center partners can take advantage of the entire spectrum of current technology and management know-how from a single source. Professional experts from science, academia, trade and industry are merging technology and management, thinking globally and acting locally. The Steinbeis service portfolio comprises: consulting, research & development, vocational education and continuous training, market intelligence and technological expertise.
According to prof. Jürgen Reitzner, cooperation in the framework of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region will help Transcarpathia and, accordingly, Ukraine approach the leading industrial centers of Eastern and Central Europe, adopt specific experience and best practices, establish experts and knowledge exchange, etc. The professor said that European business was interested not only in the workforce but also in highly skilled engineers who are in abundance in Ukraine.
"I can see a lot of opportunities for cooperation, - says prof. J.Reitzner. I have got many ideas and I am waiting for proposals from Uzhhorod National University. Ukraine is currently not as adequately represented in the world as it could be with available resources and capacity. Partnership in Shteinbeis foundation projects can help you find new partners and implement common ideas.
"UzhNU Rector, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka has expressed willingness to work on the opening of the Center and noted that there is considerable interest in Eastern Europe, so UzhNU is ready to become a scientific and practical bridge between potential partners.
