Congratulations to the winners of the competition for joint Ukrainian-Austrian research projects!
In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation announced a competition for joint Ukrainian-Austrian research projects to be implemented in 2025-2026. The competition was open to any research groups of higher education institutions, scientific institutions of both countries in all scientific disciplines and thematic areas, including the social sciences and humanities.
The good news for Uzhhorod National University is that the list of bilateral research projects selected for funding in 2025-2026 includes the project ‘Artificial Intelligence for Imaging Cancer in Women’ (supervisor - Sviatoslav Zhero, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Radiology and Oncology, Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Uzhhorod National University). The aim of this project is to develop, improve and validate artificial intelligence-based prognostic models that can serve as predictive biomarkers of response to neoadjuvant treatment in patients with breast and ovarian cancer.
The Austrian partner of the project is the Research Center for Medical Image Analysis and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Medicine of the Danube Private University (Danube Private University, Faculty of Medicine, Research Center for Medical Image Analysis and Artificial Intelligence, Vienna, Austria) (https://www.dp-uni.ac.at/en/research/research-areas/medical-image-analysis-artificial-intelligence-miaai).
The staff of the research unit sincerely congratulates the authors of the research project and wishes them successful implementation, further success and new achievements in scientific activity!
