The training office of Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for Studying European Development Strategies has been opened at Uzhhorod National University
The official opening of the information-consuting training office of Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for Studying European Development Strategies at Uzhhorod National University, JMTC auditorium and research laboratory took place on Friday, April 23, 2021.
The Rector of Uzhhorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka, the Head of the Euroregional Cooperation Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Bilak, the Director of the Educational and Research Institute for European Integration Studies and the project coordinator on behalf of UzhNU Ivan Artyomov, the Dean of the Faculty of History and International Relations Ivan Vovkanych and other guests attended the ceremony.
"International cooperation is undoubtedly one of the key and successful areas of activity of our university. We have a powerful department, the Faculty of History and International Relations is also actively involved, we are implementing a number of international programmes and agreements. Moreover, we are setting new goals for further expansion of the boundaries of our activities," said the Rector Volodymyr Smolanka.
Oleksandr Bilak, the Head of the Department of Euroregional Cooperation of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, noted: “We have been working together with Uzhhorod National University on cross-border projects for many years. Even today we are having a meeting with the vice-rector of Uzhhorod National University to discuss the issues of future international activity. We are also greatful to the Rector of Uzhhorod National University for his assistance provided in 2015, which made it possible to implement international cooperation activities. Therefore, we will continue to work together in this area."
The International Round Table on "Threats to International Security in the Carpathian Region" and the International Internet Offline Conference on "European Integration Aspects of Higher Education Development in Ukraine in the Context of Modern Challenges and Trends" have also taken place these days as part of Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center activities. The conference is included in the List of scientific conferences of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for 2021. It is also planned to publish a special issue of the collection of scientific articles "International Scientific Bulletin" containing the materials of the Round Table and the International Internet Conference (in Ukrainian and English) in May 2021.
