Results of the project "Uzhhorod, breathe deeply!” were presented at the Faculty of Chemistry
The presentation of the results of the project "Uzhhorod, breathe deeply!” took place at the Faculty of Chemistry of Uzhhorod National University on Thursday, February 18, 2021. The project won the competition of youth initiatives in Uzhhorod and is funded from the municipal budget. It is implemented by the NGO "International Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation Research", namely the Chairperson of the Board, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Svitlana Delehan-Kokayko and a board member, a post-graduate student of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Emilia Glyudzyk. The project partner is the Faculty of Chemistry of Uzhhorod National University represented by its Dean, Vasyl Lendel.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Uzhhorod Bohdan Andriyiv, the Head of the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports Olha Vasylyndra, co-founder of the People City project (Israel) Oleksiy Lyubetsky and other guests.
According to Emilia Glyudzyk, the co-author of the project “Uzhhorod, breathe deeply!”, it is aimed at raising the environmental culture and awareness of the population. Within the framework of the project, a number of activities were performed, including informational and cognitive trainings for schoolchildren and youth of the city, the purchase and installation of air quality assessment device, implementation of modern IT solutions for data collection and processing. The air quality assessment device is located on the building of the Faculty of Chemistry of UzhNU. It allows to monitor the condition of the air in the city in real time. The measurement takes place 24/7 by 11 indicators. All the information can be tracked on the Еco сity website, the access is free. The installation of the device allows the city residents to regulate their activities, taking into account the air quality indicators, as well as to live more eco-friendly lives reducing negative impact on the environment.
