UzhNU impetuously improved its position in the ranking of Ukrainian universities according to Scopus

Uzhhorod National University is in the 12th place among the Ukrainian universities. The results of the ranking of higher education institutions are based on Scopus database indicators. The recently published ranking of Ukrainian universities was compiled as a result of scientometric monitoring of the subjects of scientific and publishing activity in Ukraine on the basis of SciVerse Scopus database indicators.

As of January 2018 Scopus database included 161 Ukrainian higher education institutions.

The results of the ranking of higher education institutions are based on Scopus database indicators, which is a tool for tracking citation of scientific articles published by the institution or its employees. The Scopus database regularly indexes over 20,000 scientific journals and hundreds of book series.

In the ranking table, the universities of Ukraine are ranked by Hirsch index - a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations.

 Over the past year, the H-index of UzhNU improved by 4 points - from 29 to 34 - and helped the university to move up from the 16th to the 12th position leaving behind Bogomolets National Medical University, Sumy State University, Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
