UzhNU athlets launch cross-border cooperation with Slovakia
The first meeting of the International Youth Sports Partnership between Ukraine and Slovakia took place on January 22, 2016 at UzhNU. Cross-border cooperation has become possible due to the assistance of the Norwegian financial mechanism. Cooperation agreement was signed on January 15, 2016.
Collaboration involves arranging student sports camps (in snowboarding, cycling, rafting, windsurfing, wakeboarding, kayaking, etc.) in Ukraine and Slovakia. 32 athletes (16 from both countries) and coaches in certain kind of sport also representing Ukraine and Slovakia will be able to participate in the camps simultaneously. Grant project will be implemented until March 2017 and will end with the final conference in Uzhhorod.
The meeting was attended by the project managers in charge representing the Slovakian side Pavol Lopuchovsky and Iveta Berankova, financial manager of the project Gabriel Kish, the dean of the Faculty of Healthcare of UzhNU Olena Dulo and others.
In addition to general issues, the working group discussed the details of the first snowboarding camp which will be held on February 13-19th at Mount Krasiya. There will be four Candidates Master of Sports in snowboarding among 16 camp participants representing the Faculty of Healthcare.
