The competition was held in all regions of Ukraine, so all student teams competed solving the same tasks, prepared by the MES of Ukraine. 117 teams from the western region participated in the competition, so we can be proud of the results. Four teams of UzhNU programmers were in the top ten teams of the western region, taking respectively 3rd, 6th, 7th and 10th place.

The first round of All-Ukrainian Competition is a good training ground for students where they can practice for various international competitions. So the team of 10 IT students of UzhNU  went up in the ranking table of algorithmic programming according to TopCoder from the 54th place in October 2014 to the 34th one in February 2015.

Advances of IT students would have been impossible without the selfless work of teachers of information technology, especially our competition coach - the head of the department of information systems and technologies, Associate Professor Oleksandr Mitsa.

One of the interim results of the scientific work done at the faculty is the signing of the agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between Uzhhorod National University and V.M Hlushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The next step is the signing of a similar agreement with Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice.

We believe that these agreements will give new impetus to the development of modern information technologies in our university and in the region as a whole.
