Economists of UzhNU held an International Scientific Conference with the involvement of 17 scientists from European countries
International Scientific Conference "Improvement of accounting, analysis, audit and reporting in the context of globalization processes in the world economy” was timed to the 70th anniversary of UzhNU. The organizers of the event - the Department of Accounting and Audit of the Faculty of Economics - brought together leading academics to discuss pressing issues of economics on April 21 and 22, 2015.
Such a conference took place at the university for the second time. This time hotel "Zolota Hora" was the venue of the event where guests could also stay overnight. The conference was attended by 169 scientists, including 61 Doctors of Sciences, 73 Candidates of Sciences and also 17 scientists from such European countries as Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Moldova and Slovakia. Representatives of most classical and economic universities from many regions of Ukraine took part in the event.
The conference was also joined by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Audit Chamber of Ukraine, the Union of Auditors of Ukraine, the National Center of Accounting and Audit and the Federation of Professional Accountants of Ukraine.
"The presentation of the results of fundamental scientific research on accounting and management accounting, economic analysis, monitoring, auditing and reporting in terms of their adjustment to International Financial Reporting Standards, discussion, exchange of experience due to participation of renowned scientists from Europe took place at the conference" - commented the Head of the Department of Accounting and Audit, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor, Co-Chair of the conference, Yosyp Dankiv.
"Such broad involvement of scientists from different countries confirms the importance level of the conference. I am pleased that the university hosts four conferences today. It means that Uzhhorod National University has always been a powerful integrator of scientific forums in different fields,"- said Vice-Rector Ihor Korol at the opening of the conference.
The participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics Vitaliy Serzhanov. At the opening ceremony he also expressed gratitude to the organizers of the forum, in particular, to Professor Yosyp Dankiv.
A scientist from Slovakia Ivetta Sedlakova told us that it was her first visit to a scientific conference held in Uzhhorod. Her report concerned predictive models and their application by the companies in Slovakia. Ms Ivetta’s colleague Renata Madzinova spoke on "GDP as one of the main indicators for economic analysis." The scientist said that she was happy to participate in the conference as Graduate School of International Entrepreneurship in Presov she represented had been cooperating with UzhNU for a long time owing to Professor Yosyp Dankiv.
"Despite the fact that we are geographically close enough - only 300 kilometers from Uzhhorod – this is the first time when we came to the conference held here. It's nice that it is timed to the 70th anniversary of the university. It is very symbolic that our Krakow University celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, so we are very pleased to come to you, "- said Professor of the Department of Accounting of Krakow University of Economics Mieczyslaw Dobija. He reported on how to build an integrated GDP system in the economy of the country. He also reported on the reforms needed for this.
Nadia Tkachenko from the University of Food Technologies has been at the conferences organized by UzhNU before. She says that she was happy to come to Uzhhorod again. Her report concerned sugar industry, which had declined in Ukraine, and the influence of accounting on its recovery.
Practical recommendations for businesses have been developed, abstracts of the reports and scientific articles have been published in the "Scientific Journal of UzhNU" as a result of the International Scientific Conference "Improvement of accounting, analysis, audit and reporting in the context of globalization processes in the world economy”. Scientists hope that the recommendations will help to improve the level of accounting and auditing in Ukraine, as well as the level of training specialists in the field of accounting and auditing.
