Deputy Minister of Education to students: "Set goals, go ahead and succeed"
On 2 June, 2017 a delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine headed by the Deputy Minister Roman Hreba paid a working visit to UzhNU. The delegation comprised the Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova, the Head of the Department for State Property and Enterprises Olena Kostenko and the Head of the Department for Physical Education and Sports Vadym Stetsenko.
The representatives of the Ministry viewed the academic buildings, laboratory and sports facilities of UzhNU. They also met with the heads of structural departments of the university and students.
At a meeting with the deans they discussed a number of topics, in particular the ways of attracting foreign students, property management, promotion of sports among students, USEDE (unified state electronic database on education) update in regions etc.
The meeting with the students began with an unexpected confession of the deputy minister. It turns out, that Roman Hreba comes from Transcarpathia, he was born in Irshava. "Uzhhorod National University could have been my alma mother, but I went to study to Kharkiv. I must say that there’s no better city than Uzhhorod, - said Roman Hreba. - We live in a very difficult period. However, this is also the time of changes and extraordinary opportunities. You can hold any office and achieve great success in any business. Therefore set goals, move ahead and succeed."
The Deputy Minister urged the youth to actively participate in international academic programs, learn foreign languages, go abroad for short-term programs, and then return home.
